Who we are
The Airport Managers of Puget Sound (AMPS) was founded to bring together airport directors and aviation leaders from across the Puget Sound region to collaborate on shared issues affecting regional aviation. The organization was started by three airport directors: David Decoteau of Boeing Field / King County International Airport, Josh Marcy of Paine Field, and Tim Mesonides of Auburn Municipal Airport.
All About Us
Recognizing that airports in the Puget Sound area face many common challenges and opportunities including airspace coordination and infrastructure planning to community relations and regulatory changes, the founders created AMPS as a forum for regional collaboration. The goal was to provide a setting where airport leaders could share information, discuss emerging issues, and work together on topics impacting aviation across the region. The group was modeled after the Bay Area Airport Managers group in the San Francisco Bay Area, which has long provided a successful framework for regional airport cooperation. Today, the Airport Managers of Puget Sound meets quarterly, bringing together airport directors and aviation professionals from around the region to exchange ideas, strengthen relationships, and support the continued success of Puget Sound’s aviation system.
